Truffle Oil
The taste of truffles is a unanimous favorite among chefs and gourmands around the world. Deeply complex and highly aromatic, Brillat-Savarin was rumored to have called them “the diamonds of the kitchen”. Unfortunately, the demand for truffles is great, the yield is small, and the season is short, making it sometimes difficult to acquire fresh truffles. Fortuitously, truffle oil has become a more accessible and economical way to get the same delightfully earthy flavor of truffles into all your dishes. Whether you prefer the intense flavor of black truffles, or the lighter, more subtle characteristics of white truffles, we have an excellent selection of both varieties. From grape seed to sunflower, they also come in a wide range of carrier oils. Explore our complete list of truffle offerings today for an authentic taste of this singularly delightful tuber!

The main thing to keep in mind when using truffle oil is that it wasn’t designed to be cooked with. By that, we mean it wasn’t intended to be exposed to heat. It’s not a cooking oil, it's a finishing oil. The heat will alter the taste and make the oil develop “off” flavors. Instead of pouring it into the pan, reserve your truffle oils for the end when plating your dish. Swirling them into pasta at the last minute or sprinkling them onto fish, meats, vegetables, or pizzas for that extra touch of musky flavor. Since our truffle oils are made from real truffles they boast intense authentic flavors so a little goes a long way. Douse a bit here or there, being sure to use it sparingly starting with less and adding more until you achieve perfection. Both black and white truffle oils can intensify truffle flavor in a recipe. When featured alongside fresh truffles the tiniest amount adds a luxurious quality to a dish. Apply truffle oil as you would perfume, a finishing touch, that when used lightly adds intrigue and charm, but when used in a heavy-handed manner is overpowering and off-putting.
